Dougherty Arts Center Public Artist Training Program

The Dougherty Arts Center inaugurates a training program for visual artists in creative design for Public Art. Learn more about the production of artworks for public places including an overview of budgeting, engineering, site selection, and proposal preparation.

Our six-week class encourages research and provides students with opportunities to learn from accomplished public artists. This class will give an in depth look at the public art application process, while students work to put together their own submission package. Students will be invited to attend a special Q & A lunch with acclaimed artist Patrick Dougherty as he creates one of his majestic Stickwork sculptures in Pease Park.
