Austin CERT Training
Training covers basic emergency preparedness, response capabilities, first aid, fire suppression and search and rescue procedures. The CERT program is supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The training is provided free of charge. Community Emergency Response Team training educates people about disaster preparedness for specific types of hazards, and trains them in basic disaster response skills and the role of Austin CERT.
The CERT course is offered annually. Please note: dates for 2017-2018 have not yet been determined.

Free online CERT training is also available at the following link: IS-317 course offered online by FEMA. This is an independent study course that offers flexible online training that includes six CERT modules: CERT Basics, Fire Safety, Hazardous Material and Terrorist Incidents, Disaster Medical Operations, Search and Rescue, and a Course Summary.
You must be at least 18.
